Lithophane unimoda (Lintner, 1878)
Family: Noctuidae
Subfamily: Noctuinae
Identification: Forewing is even more deep bluish gray than in Lithophane grotei. Lines obscure; st. line most distinct. White or pale gray orbicular spot is most conspicuous marking. Reniform spot obscure. Hindwing paler graish brown than in Lithophane grotei.
Wing Span: 3.8-4.4 cm.
Life History:
Flight: October-December and February-May.
Caterpillar Hosts: Mostly black cherry; some other trees.

Range: Nova Scotia to South Carolina, west through southern Canada, south to Nebraska and Missouri.
