Recently eclosed and drying his wings. The antennae indicate this specimen is male. He is on the trunk of a dogwood tree. Edit: I found him on the dogwood tree. He was not kept inside that I know of, but I do know some of the neighborhood children have raised caterpillars in the past, so it is possible he was kept at room temperature through the winter.
