Observation Notes:
Zebra Swallowtail observed nectaring in a bed of marigolds and lantana.
Region:
United States
Missouri
St. Louis County
Location Notes:
Observed in a suburban neighborhood of St. Louis - address is 1300 Kenmoore drive, 63122. VERY EXCITED to see this, and will be planting Paw Paws at my house next spring, which is the soonest I can get native plants. I live 1 mile from the sighting so I am hoping they will eventually visit me! NOTE: The photo I uploaded is not the exact Zebra Swallowtail that I saw. I couldn't get my camera on it fast enough. This website requires a photo, so I had to use one from the web. I am 100% sure it was a Zebra though - I raise Black Swallowtails, Tiger Swallowtails and Giant Swallowtails, and the Zebra Swallowtail is my dream butterfly to be able to raise, so I am very familiar with its appearance.
