Observation Notes: 
Sunny, humid, 70 degrees. The butterfly was moving from leaf to leaf in the sun, 3 to 5 feet above the ground, at the edge of the road, about 200 feet from a slow-moving creek. Nearby were sycamore, oak, maple, beech, white pine, wild cherry, sumac, dogwood, lespedeza, wingstem, autumn olive, rose mallow, joe pye weed, iron weed, milkweed, dogbane, senna, black-eyed susan, mixed grasses.

Sunny, humid, about 65 degrees. The moth was on the outer door of the park office, and was disinclined to move even when the door was opened. Nearby were the parking lot, wet, dew-coated, mown grass, some small locust trees, a couple of yew bushes.

Observation Notes: 
Photographed this specimen on the ceiling of my porch while mothing. After examining the photo it appeared that she may have been ovipositing. Returned about an hour later and saw the egg mass left behind. Each egg was less than .5 mm in diameter and the total mass was about 6-7 mm across. The deposition site was a horizontal, painted aluminum surface.

Observation Notes: 
This individual appeared on the door of my house during the day and was still present nearby at 10:00 PM. Though it had obviously moved it, it was no more than one foot from where I first saw it. This day was clear and sunny during the afternoon with temperatures reaching 88 degrees F. Temperature was 76 F when the photos were taken.
