Northport High School is found on the north shore of Suffolk County Long Island, New York. This suburban district contains a variety of habitats from coastal beaches and estuaries to mixed deciduous forests. Students in the Advanced Placement Environmental Science (APES) class will have the opportunity to engage in citizen science by actively searching for what species they find in and around their community. It is the hope that students will gain a profound appreciation for the creatures and open spaces around them.
