Nectaring on wild mustard. A rather worn individual keeping company with unidentifiable skippers.

Observation Notes: 
ampelos group? Nectaring on Queen Anne's Lace. Saw more than 20 individuals, most patrolling and a few perched or nectaring, along a quarter to half mile stretch of the trail between the oak savannah area and the edge of the woods. They favored a habitat of tall, dry grass and weeds in bright sunlight. Beautiful. Also many, 50+ uncooperative, unidentifiable skippers.

Observation Notes: 
Nectaring on purple clover. This is the only one I saw that day. Flew away toward the center of the flower/weed patch when it noticed me. also 1 Mylitta Crescent patrolling the path, did not chase the Painted Lady.

Location Notes: 
Troutdale, Oregon. The 40 Mile Loop Trail is accessed from a public trail head across from the Troutdale Airport. Follow the paved path to the sewage treatment plant, then go down to the gravel road that runs parallel to the levee (the paved path is runs along the top of the levee) and look for a dirt trail leads through the meadow towards the river.

Observation Notes: 
Meadow off Soda Mountain Road. Wingspan 1 and 1/2 inch. This is the same specimen as sighting 1240121. I included two new photos highlighting the orange antennal knobs. They are not obvious in the original photos as the antennae dried on edge relative to the specimen. Also, this specimen seems to have an indented forewing margin outline. My understanding is field crescents are rounded in their outline. Certainly don’t want to turn the specimen into something it isn’t, but wanted to clarify the above. Thank-you for all your help.
