Life History: Two generations per year in most of range, likely more in south
Caterpillar Hosts: A variety of hosts reported including black locust, hackberry and redbud.

Range: Eastern USA
Management Needs:
Comments: Caterpillar has stinging spines.
Taxonomy Notes: Norape cretata (Grote, 1864), rev. status, has now been raised to full species from synonymy of [4650] Norape ovina (Sepp, [1855]) in Wagner et al. (2022). Ovina is now regarded as extralimital north of Mexico.
