Identification: Body and wings bright, shiny yellow; forewing streaked with orange; pm. line broadly curved. Hindwing may have slight grayish brown shading.
Wing Span: 3-4.4 cm.
Life History: Adults are often found during the day on yellow flowers such as goldenrods, where they are well concealed.
Flight: Late August-September.
Caterpillar Hosts: Spanish needles.
