Identification: Variable, nearly black to gray, light tan to whitish,sometimes with a tinge of ochreous brown in the drsal area.
Wing Span: 2.5-3.1 cm
Life History:
Flight: June to September
Caterpillar Hosts: Larvae bore in the root crowns of bush lupines (Lupinus).
Adult Food:
Habitat: Mountains
Range: Widespread in western North America, from Alaska to California and Colorado.
