Tufted Apple-Bud Moth
Platynota idaeusalis (Walker, 1859)

Subfamily: Tortricinae
Identification: Forewing ash gray with obscure blackish and brown shading. Thin st. and terminal lines and small squarish patch at middle of outer margin. Hindwing grayish brown.
Wing Span: 1.2-2.5 cm.
Life History:
Flight: May-September.
Caterpillar Hosts: Apple, ashes, black walnut, boxelder, clover, goldenrod, pines, willows, and other plants.
