Identification: Outer margin of the forewing is straight. Wings are yellowish orange to brownish orange. Forewing upperside has pink at the base and reduced markings.
Wing Span: 2 3/16 - 2 9/16 inches (5.5 - 6.5 cm).
Life History: Not reported.
Flight: . Two broods; in Florida from March-September and in Louisiana from April-September; one brood northward from June-August.
Caterpillar Hosts: Blueberry and huckleberry (Vaccinium), cherries (Prunus), and willows (Salix).
Adult Food: Adults may not feed.
Habitat: Not reported.
Range: Maine south to Florida, west to Missouri and Mississippi.
Conservation: Not usually required.
