Subfamily: Hadeninae
Identification: Forewing grayish brown; reddish brown blotch beyond claviform spot, which is a solid, blackish wedge. Orbicular and reniform spots grayish, indistinct. Lines inconspicuous. Black streaks on veins in terminal area. Hindwing evenly dark grayish brown.
Wing Span: 3-3.5 cm.
Life History:
Flight: Late May-early August.
Caterpillar Hosts: Blueberries, clover, hickories, oaks, and other plants.

Habitat:
Range: Nova Scotia and Quebec to North Carolina, west through southern Canada, south to Arkansas and Kansas.

Comments: Genus was changed from Polia to Orthodes in 7/2009 as per Hugh McGuinness.
