Roadside Sallow
Metaxaglaea viatica (Grote, 1874)

Subfamily: Noctuinae
Identification: Nearly identical to Metaxaglaea semitaria (Footpath Sallow), but duller brown. Male genitalia have long, curved terminal spine on valve (visible by brushing tip of abdomen and observing under magnification); spine of Footpath Sallow is short and broad.
