Subfamily: Larentiinae
Identification: Forewing broad, shiny, pale brown, with three dark brown costal patches as in Heterophelps refusaria; outer patch smallest. Am. and pm. lines even, faint, paler than ground color. Hindwing slightly paler and much smaller than forewing.
Wing Span: 1.8-2.4 cm.
Life History:
Flight: April-September.
Caterpillar Hosts: Maples.

Range: Nova Scotia and Quebec to Florida, west to Wisconsin, Kansas, and Mississippi.
