Identification: Forewing long and narrow; maroon, with gray median area defined by paler gray am. and pm. lines. Hindwing shiny grayish.
Wing Span: 3.4-4.1 cm.
Life History:
Flight: May-early November.
Caterpillar Hosts: Tulip-tree.
Adult Food:
Range: New York to Florida, west to Kentucky and Mississippi.
