Subfamily: Cuculliinae
Identification: Forewing whitish gray with brown and blackish shading along costa that widens toward apex; brown to blackish border of inner margin widens at anal angle. Pm. line reduced to a white crescent at inner margin. Hindwing white with grayish brown border.
Wing Span: 4.4-5.6 cm.
Life History:
Flight: May-September.
Caterpillar Hosts: Flowers of asters, goldenrods, and other composites.

Range: Newfoundland to Florida, west to Manitoba, Arkansas, and Mississippi.
