Identification: Forewing dull grayish brown, with brown shading along the costa. Lines black, toothed, accented with white; large white discal spot outlined in black.
Wing Span: 2.7-3.8cm.
Life History:
Caterpillar Hosts: Conifers such as balsam fir, hemlock, spruces, white pine.
Adult Food:
NCGR: G5 - Demonstrably secure globally, though it may be quite rare in parts of its range, especially at the periphery.
