Comments: species name changed from pruni to clarescens as per Hugh McGuinness 8/2009; source: Lafontaine: Forbes in his 1954 book [it was really Franclemont though] sunk pruni to a form of clarescens. The change, like a lot of those made in the Lep of NY book, were missed in the 1983 check list, which was strange considering Franclemont was the senior author. The changes were mostly reinstated (including the pruni one) in the Owlet moths of Ohio book by Eric Metzler.
