Observation notes: Misidentified the first time as a sphinx chersis , but when I looked at the pics itit clearly does not have the"blue eyes" like this one. Please help! I found this one deceased on my steps on a very hot day of 97 F .

Coordinator notes: Sorry about the wrong name. I meant to re-verify as Smerinthus cerisyi but my brain got confused on the species names "cerisyi" and "chersis."
