Observation notes: These were on a cottonwood tree in Bozeman Montana.They were very densely packed a small part of the tree, and ALMOST completely defoliated that branch. It has been relatively warm and wet (for Montana) and there were lots of black scats that looked like black rice below the tree.I am here: 45.64184 N 111.03483 W http://maps.google.com/maps?q=loc:45.64185,-111.03484
