Observation notes: My husband saw this amazingly beautiful moth on the wall of the window well of our cottage. It was there all afternoon in the light rain, eventually moving down off the wall onto the leaves. It was gone the next morning, after torrential overnight downpours. The wings were about 3" from body to tip and the body was massive, but looks remarkably soft and furry.
