Observation notes: 8 Dusted Skippers seen on the "Tallgrass West" area (Big Bluestem Trail, South Boulder Creek Trail) on City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks property. Most seen patrolling, also seen nectaring at a purple locoweed and at Palmer's Penstemon.

Coordinator notes: Correctly identified by the submitter. There are better terms to describe mate location behavior in butterflies and skippers than "patrolling." The best term for most skippers including A. hianna is "rait" which means to rest ("r") and wait ("ait") for females to pass by.
