Observation notes: Observed during daylight hours clinging to the bark of a tree near Cleveland Ohio. Wings were mostly open, but wind was causing them to blow together. Was not afraid. Seemed "groggy". Very large body. Wing span would have been > 3", closer to 4". Brilliant colors.
