Observation notes: I was pleasantly surprised to find this individual, which was persistently nectaring on Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca), in a somewhat small (but milkweed-rich) roadside meadow at the Whitebreast Unit of Stephens State Forest. Conditions were very warm (95 degrees F) and partly cloudy.
