Observation notes: This little blue butterfly was photographed at Maplewood Nature Center, Maplewood, MN (Twin Cities metro area) on 8/4/11. I was photographing an American Bellflower (Campanulastrum Amaricanum), when one of the 'flowers' suddenly moved. There were a number of these tiny blue butterflies feeding on this patch of flowers, but they blended in so well that it was hard to spot them. They don't appear to have much variegation or outstanding markings. I am having some difficulty trying to figure out just what they are, as none of my references show any such small blue butterflies as being native here, or not that are known to feed on this plant.
