Observation notes: I found this butterfly (or moth) on my lawn, in the sun, in the late morning. He was lethargic and I could get VERY CLOSE to him. He had a large orange and white striped hairy body.(probably 2.25 inches long and as big around as your finger)He climbed onto a stick that I offered and carried him to a tree for protection. He was back on the lawn the next day. That was the last I saw of him.
