Observation notes: appeared to be resting with very little movement. clinging to the tip of an Elephant Ear Hosta. large moth/butterfly - larger than a Monarch and smaller than a House Wren. partial shade along a north facing garage. very little movement other than a bit of contraction in the abdomen.
