Coordinator notes: Although the character in the apical black markings tells me this is a Checkered White rather than the Western...I will agree with you on this female that it shows an exception to the character of having the black apical marking continuous in having an open space that clearly shows the white ground color in the middle. The markings are exceptionally bold for a Checkered White although someone out there might disagree with me on this one. I have some true Western Whites with this open space though from lower elevations. Mike
