Coordinator notes: Your ID is correct...this is a NEW COLORADO STATE RECORD and from the Rock Creek area...a location that sees a lot of stray fly-ins and great records for oddities such as the Julia Longwing (Dryas iulia) caught only once in the state so far, July 18, 1986. If you live in the Colorado Springs area, you would probably do very well finding various other fly-ins during July in the Rock Creek area...this year is seeing quite an influx of southern species...such as the Gulf Fritillary and Funereal Skipper. David...do you have the original photo of this record...one that is not reduced? I saved your image from both iNat (forwarded to me by a friend) and your listing here but they tend to be too small. I will use it in the second volume of my book (Butterflies of Colorado...volume 1 completing now) and original photos at around 4-5Mb work best to convert to Tiff format and publication requirements. Please confirm your name and location where you live (just the town/city...not your address) so the record and related information can be correctly credited to you.
