Observation notes: Eastern Swallowtail enjoying a meal. Mainly sunny day. Ventral forewing yellow margin is broken up with black veining, thus not a Canadian Swallowtail.

Coordinator notes: You're correct; it would be much too late in the flight to see a Canadian so fresh. In your location, the late June-early July brood of Tigers is the newly recognized "Midsummer Tiger." It shares characteristics of both the Eastern and Canadian, but isn't considered a true "hybrid" (although we used to label these as "canadensis x glaucus" before the species designation. -jmgesell
