Coordinator notes: Also know as the Western White Admiral, this “subspecies” of Limenitis arthemis is found from far western Ontario and NW Minnesota and westward. Bold, SM red spots on the dorsal HWs are classic for the species. It has a different overall pattern than the Weidemeyer’s, which is found more in the Rockies and higher elevations to the south and west of your location.
