Coordinator notes: Your ID is correct...yes...a male. In your area is a mix...some look like subspecies flavula over most of western Colorado, others like subspecies calydon that is mostly found east of the Continental Divide. Did I mention before ? that palla and flavula are suggested by genetics to be to different species...flavula in our region...palla in the west coast states. Mike
