Observation notes: This butterfly (very battered-looking) was photographed on a sunlit leaf near the ground, keeping its wings together. When another butterfly came by, it actively chased it, then returned to the leaf. Weather was sunny & warm, about 70 degrees F. Am curious about the green "splotches" on the wings!
