Observation notes: This butterfly was visiting the flowers of Phlox subulata ssp. australis Moss Phlox, as shown in two of the pictures. It also visited Phlox glaberrima 'Morris Berd', which is not pictured. Their flowers have a similar color as the pictured Moss Phlox. After feeding, the butterfly basked in the sun on a rock.
