Observation notes: With warm temperature, this metalmark is appearing on the west-facing slope of Tortugas Mountain as well as at the east-facing type locality. This individual was sunning on a littleleaf ratany shrub and when disturbed flew into an adjacent tangle of dry grass stems then descended to a rock below to continue sunning on a flat rock. The mid-afternoon was sunny, warm, and with low to moderate wind.
