Observation notes: Box canyon Anza Borrego desert state park. Sunny 65 high light breeze. Species seen Sara Orange tip, Wrights Metalmark, Sleepy Orange, Great Purple Hairstreak, funeral Dusky Wing, Cloudless, Painted Lady, California Patch. Next two days clouds heavy turning to rain on new years day. 30 31 no butterflies seen. Desert is starting to wake up with some good blooms here and there. Cold nights seem to be slowing things down.
