Observation notes: This butterfly was feeding from the flowers of Blue Mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum). The monarchs continue to make their way through the yard in Migration. Two days ago, Sunday 28 September, was by far the biggest Monarch migration day of the season for this yard. It was a very sunny and warm day. Yesterday and today have been cloudy and cooler, but the Monarchs are still moving through, albeit in smaller numbers. And they continue to visit the Blue Mistflowers the most. Other flowers in the picture are Obedient Plant ( Physostegia virginiana) and Rough Goldenrod (Solidago rugosa) cultivar 'Fireworks'.
