Observation notes: Sipping from moist soil at base of waterfall. My favorite butterfly spot on Marys Peak. 2.4 miles up Marys Peak Forest Rd from junction with Hwy 34. Sunny in the morning, shady in the afternoon. A small roadside stream and waterfall with a paved pullout. Road cut forested on one side, dry grassy and moist riparian road shoulder with seeps along road cut. South facing granite cliff with lots of nooks and crannies for butterflies to shelter at night.
