Observation notes: not a great pic, fuzzy against the light. it flew away when I moved to other side. hopefully will be back and get a better pic. process of elimination, Mexican Yellow, note the vertical stripe on hind wing, bold dog-face markings, solid forwing spot, not ringed, no other markings. medium size, not like a small sulphur or or a large sulphur that we regularly get and too "yellow" for an orange. Really likes the gomphrena.
