Observation notes: Flying along a creek to the waterfall at Rancho Sierra Vista in the west Santa Monica Mountains. I couldn't get closer for better photos, but the comma mark seems more consistent with Satyr than Hoary, and Hoary doesn't seem to occur at this low elevation.
