Coordinator notes: P. canadensis would no longer be in flight this time of year, which ends near the end of June. The emergence you saw is a newly recognized species called P. solstitius, or the Midsummer Tiger Swallowtail. It' flight starts right at the end of P. canadensis, and shares characteristics of both P. canadensis and glaucus, but isn't a true hybrid. -Jeff Gesell
