Observation notes: I was photographing a San Bernardino Blue on CA Buckwheat when Chris Tenney called for me to come see this Dryope Hairstreak in the dry Creekbed on helitrope. Chris says Ken Davenport reviewed the taxonomy in his book & reminded him that Monterey's non-tailed population had been split from Sylvan as newly named Dryope.
