Observation notes: Many dozens of them moving through the back half acre, wings in various states of wear, stopping to pollinate my strawberries. All are moving roughly SSE to NNW. Flying only 2-4 inches above the grass. The 'migration' in that direction has been going on for hours. Wings always closed on landing. Mostly open grassy areas beyond th eedge of the subdivision where I live, back yard borders 100 acres of grass.
