Observation notes: Single individual (male) hovering and landing in low grasses and bare ground in a large clearing with high grasses and individual large oaks. Weather clear, 82 degrees, slight breeze.

Coordinator notes: The checkered forewing borders and thick black on the hindwings suggest a Dotted Blue or an atypical Bernardino Blue, but Melissa Blues have more orange below on the forewings. Melissa Blues are common in the Frazier Park-Lake of the Woods area.-Ken Davenport
