Observation notes: Suspect subspecies chalcis. The dominant hairstreak over a 3 mile stretch of chaparral, perching primarily on Chamise but also on Mountain mahogany and other low brush. Weather breezy, partly cloudy and temps in the high 60s. upwards of 50 individuals seen.
