Observation notes: Scott E. Miller's 1984 Butterflies of the California Channel Islands notes that Glaucopysche lygdamus australis (Grinnell) is a resident of Santa Rosa Island. Yellow deer weed was blooming in Cherry Canyon.

Coordinator notes: The subspecies of Silvery Blue on Santa Rosa Island is pseudoxerces described in 1998 in chapter 22 of the Systematics of North American Butterflies distinguished by more well developed white lunules on the hindwings. Congratulations! So hold on to those photos I may have rejected, especially if this is the same individual.-Ken Davenport
