Coordinator notes: Hi. Junonia sp. are notoriously different to differentiate, but I'm in agreement with this article (see https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8570557/) that concludes that there are just three Junonia sp. in south Texas; coenia, nigrosuffusa and genoveva. Your sighting is of the latter. Hope the article is interesting to you. JRains
