Boisduval's Blue
Plebejus icarioides

Observation date: July 02, 2024
Submitted by: sandyleapt
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Marys Peak Campground parking lot has a huge, lovely mud puddle when it rains. I found 20 or 30 little blue butterflies puddling on this day. In season this is a reliable spot for Boisduval's Blue Butterflies. The campground is open noble fir forest with lush understory of native and naturalized perennial flowers, shrubs and lilies. Includes lupine, anemone, thimble berry, penstemon, paint brush and a native bramble.
