Coordinator notes: The original locality given was incomplete as to the actual locality. The actual locality was on Mt. Graham, Lady Bug Saddle, in San Diego County, not the city of San Diego as it originally appeared. This was one of only two recent records. It is possible that this may not be Epargyreus clarus, but Epargyreus huachuca based on a comment by Emmel & Emmel in their 1973 Southern California book. However, without actual collected individiduals, that cannot be verified.-Ken Davenport
