Observation notes: Observed three individuals flying near the Rio Grande. They alighted on sandy soil. One near the river bank was absorbing moisture/minerals and also appeared to be in the process of basking. These sightings are the first of the year for us for Santa Fe County. The temperature was in the upper 50s F.
